Hello lovelies,
This week’s poem is one on performance. We go through life practicing and auditioning to play parts in life, from relationships to work. Often, we can project that same approach onto God. We believe we have to earn our way into His heart, living for the applause rather than the much needed pause.

Believing we need to have perfected our part before we can be called upon. You find yourself at times dancing with your demons, a jive of jeers from within that you try to overcome with your own strength. However, God in His goodness guides the way, giving us the courage to keep going.
Let this be your reminder to never lose your courage. You won’t be applauded or praised by everyone, but you will know who loves you more than anything. Who is watching and listening intently with the deepest care and concern for the intricate details of your life. It is an invitation to pause rather than perform.
We’re taught to perform, rather than pause.
We live from repeated rehearsal
success is a stage, but you don’t feel selected.
Why is it those with energy are elected?
Performance from pressure rather than praise,
the chase to be chosen and not effaced.
Cherished rather than chastised.
You dance with your demons
believing the battle is yours to overcome-
this brutal ballet that burns you,
you frolic in the fire, only to leave your courage charred.
Hold His hand and let Him take the lead-
for He knows the steps and will carry you the rest of the way.
A debutante from the debris,
dear one, you never had to audition for His ardour,
nor His attention.
For he has anointed you,
a precious calling prescribed
to pause, rather than perform.
He is not one who asks to be impressed
by choreographing your chapters to prove you are worth success.
His work is done best when you are at rest,
when you fall over your feet and digress,
the art of abiding even in the ache,
as He draws us close, He applauds us for showing our mishaps,
our mistakes,
with unfathomable measures of grace.
Take heart, have courage to try again,
I am with you-
placing your feet on a foundation of faith.
With Love
